Technician – Data and Security / Low Voltage
We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work under the responsibility of the Project Manager and may collaborate with Mechanics, Apprentice Mechanics, and Service Technicians depending on the project requirements.
The Technician is responsible for performing installation work, inspections, commissioning, troubleshooting, service, and maintenance of highly complex and specialized installations across multiple technical disciplines such as Access Control, CCTV and BMS.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and assess work orders for troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance activities, sometimes with limited technical information available.
- Analyze and familiarize yourself thoroughly with installations and systems before starting work, including consultation with clients or colleagues when necessary.
- Independently evaluate technical situations and determine the impact of malfunctions, changes, or system modifications.
- Perform maintenance, repairs, fault diagnostics, and corrective actions on complex installations and systems.
- Install, test, configure, and commission equipment and peripheral devices.
- Recommission systems and installations after maintenance or repairs.
- Adjust settings and modify software configurations when required.
- Carry out maintenance inspections and provide professional recommendations for system improvements and optimization.
- Take preventive technical measures where necessary.
- Update technical documentation and records as required.
- Provide users and clients with operational instructions and technical guidance regarding system modifications or improvements.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, work order updates, test protocols, and fault reports.
- Provide technical input and administrative support for quotations when needed.
- Maintain a small inventory of materials and spare parts and ensure timely ordering of required supplies.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and regulations related to quality, occupational health and safety, environmental standards, and company-specific guidelines.
- Support and maintain professional customer relationships through effective communication and service.
- Be available to participate in on-call and emergency fault-clearing services.
Requirements
- Technical education equivalent to MBO Level 4 or HBO with extensive additional technical training and certifications, plus relevant experience;
- Strong technical knowledge of complex and specialized installations.
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
- Experience with troubleshooting, commissioning, inspections, and maintenance.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Commitment to keeping technical knowledge and certifications up to date.
- Valid Driver’s License (Category B) and ability and willing to work ‘Storingsdiensten’.
